A garden hose is a high-flow fixture people leave in their hand without a meter in their head. An open hose can be 5–10 gallons per minute depending on pressure and the nozzle. Ten minutes of “just rinsing the driveway” can match a long shower.
A shutoff nozzle you actually use is the habit. A hose left trickling at the far flower bed is a leak with a hobby. Filling a kiddie pool or a stock tank is a volume event — those can be other cards if you do them often.
Well users pay the pump electricity too (well-pump card). City water users pay volume and sometimes sewer on irrigation, depending on the utility.
Set flow and minutes. A pressure washer is a different tool if that is what you meant.
At 5.00 per 1,000 gallons, 7 gallons per minute for 10 minutes is 70 gallons — about 0.35. A half hour is about 1.05 of volume. Easy to do on a Saturday without noticing.
